The Northwest University softball team swept College of Idaho and dropped two games to Eastern Oregon University in a high desert road swing over the weekend.
The Eagles (11-25 overall, 8-18) beat College of Idaho 2-1 in Caldwell, Idaho on Friday, April 15, thanks to RBIs from Savannah Rush and Ricky Tacdol. NU pitcher Kelli Peckham threw a complete game with four hits, five strikeouts and one walk.
Northwest Universitythen picked up and 11-2 win in the second half of the doubleheader. Rush and Tacdol each finished with three RBIs on two hits.
On Saturday, April 16, the Eagles lost 8-3 and 5-3 in 11 innings to the EOU Mountaineers in La Grande, Ore. NU scored three runs in the top of the first inning in the second game, but Alex Shuster homered twice — once in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game, and a two-run walk off blast in the bottom of the 11th inning.
The Eagles have four games remaining in the regular season, all at home in Kirkland. NU is scheduled to play Oregon Tech in a doubleheader at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, April 22, and scheduled to play Southern Oregon University at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 23.
