Northwest University defeats Corban in four games | College volleyball

Northwest University posted a 3-1 (25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21) victory over Corban University on senior night for the Eagles on Friday. The win moves NU into the fifth spot in the Cascade Conference and a hold on a playoff spot with one match remaining.

Freshman Amanda Waterman led NU (14-14, 7-10 CCC) with 18 kills and 12 digs for another double-double. Freshmen Brooke Riddle and Morgan Pilon combined for 50 assists, Riddle with 26 and Pilon with 24. Sophmore Leia Roy had 19 digs and senior Olivia Van Dlacadded 17 for the Eagles. NU hit .237 as a team.

Corban (7-17, 3-13 CCC) was led by Shantelle Hill’s 9 kills and 12 defensive digs. Haley Meili had a match high 36 assists and Katherine Salness led the Warriors with 17 digs. Corban was limited to .113 hitting as a team for the match.

Northwest U finished their regular season next week on the road in Olympia to take on Evergreen on Friday, Nov. 7. Corban will also be on the road for their final two matches of the season at the College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon Nov. 7-8.
