Northwest University comes from behind to defeat No. 23 Royals | College women’s basketball

The Northwest University (NU) women overcame a nine point halftime deficit to defeat No. 23 Hope International, 73-71, in a non-conference game on Friday.

The Northwest University (NU) women overcame a nine point halftime deficit to defeat No. 23 Hope International, 73-71, in a non-conference game on Friday.

NU (3-0) was led by Brianna Fiso’s 12 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Asher (Puyallup, Wash.) and Paige Burson added 11 points each with Asher adding seven assist and eight rebounds for the game. Chanara Greene added 10 points and six rebounds as the Eagles shot 38 percent for the game. NU struggled from the free throw line hitting just 6 -for-17 for 35 percent and going 29 percent on two-for-seven shooting in the second half.

Brittany Bauman led Hope International (2-2)  with 19 points while teammate Krystal Canning finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the Royals. Alexis Perry added 10 points and eight rebounds. HIU shot 39 percent for the game and got out rebounded by Northwest, 50-40.
