Northwest University held off an upset minded and hot shooting Walla Walla team with a narrow, 73-70 win in a non-conference contest this afternoon.

Northwest University (NU) held off an upset minded and hot shooting Walla Walla team with a narrow, 73-70 win in a non-conference contest on Nov. 21.

NU (4-2) got 25 points and 8 rebounds from C.J. Carter on 8 for 15 shooting as the Wolves from Walla Walla heated up to shoot 45% in the second half and dropping down 6 of 17 three pointers. NU held a slight edge at half, taking a 34-32 lead at the break.

Walla Walla (0-8) got a team high 24 points from Tyreek Luckett who shot 50 percent for the game (9-18). NU just won the rebounding battle with a 34-33 advantage on the boards.

Dak Shagren score 12 points and Tomas Ogbaslassie dropped in 10 points for NU. Marko Nikolic led the Eagles with nine rebounds and Luke Spady grabbed 9 rebounds for the Wolves.

Jordan Spady and Ethan Osias both scored 13 for Walla Walla.

NU travels to Newberg, Ore., tomorrow to play George Fox University in another non-conference contest.
