Mercer Island sweeps Juanita baseball

After getting off to a promising start during Juanita baseball’s second game against Mercer Island Thursday, the Rebels dropped their lead and lost 5-4.

The Rebels started with a strong lead, scoring the team’s four runs in the first two innings, including two home runs from Kris Otterholt and Weston Railton. From there on out, however, Juanita couldn’t get a run, despite chances and the bases being loaded in the sixth inning. Both teams finished the game with six hits, while Mercer Island improved to a 7-1 record this season.

Otterholt was 2 for 4 at bat with two RBI, while Railton was 1 for 4 at bat with two RBI.

The Rebels will start their series against Sammamish on Monday at the Totems field, before hosting the team on Wednesday.
