LWHS girls soccer | Kangs score first, lose to Issaquah

The Lake Washington girls soccer team scored first Tuesday night against Issaquah. But the team was shutout during the next 70 minutes during a 4-1 loss to the Eagles.

Lake Washington’s Marissa Grant found teammate Jessica Zogg for a Kangs’ only goal during the tenth minute of the contest. But Issaquah proved why they are one of the team’s to beat in 4A KingCo, scoring twice before halftime to claim the lead. The Eagles were led by Lindsay Stall, who tallied a hat trick during the game, including two second-half scores.

The loss pushes the Kangs to 0-3 in league play and 0-6-1 overall on the young season.

Lake Washington will attempt to earn its first win as they travel to Woodinville Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
