LW and Juanita girls set for state regionals

Lake Washington and Juanita’s girls basketball teams faced off again in the third/fourth-place game of the 3A Sea-King District Tournament on Feb. 22 at Bellevue College. The Kangs defeated the Rebels, 67-45.

Both teams have qualified for the regional tournament, which takes place on Feb. 28-29.

Lake Washington defeated Bishop Blanchet, 47-32, on Feb. 18 and lost to Garfield, 63-57, on Feb. 20.

Juanita defeated Franklin, 48-47, on Feb. 18 for the Rebels’ second straight Sea-King win and lost to Eastside Catholic, 63-45, on Feb. 20.

Lake Washington will next play Arlington at noon this Saturday at Jackson High and will qualify for state win or lose.

Juanita will face Seattle Prep at 6 p.m. this Friday at Sammamish High in a winner-to-state, loser-out contest.
