Haschak represented the Kangs well in two national wrestling tournaments last month. Haschak finished 11th out of 50 wrestlers in the 189-pound division at the USA Wrestling High School Greco Roman Championships in Fargo, N.D., from July 20-22. Haschak went 3-2, winning twice by decision and once by pin before being knocked out by top-ranked Grant Gambrall of Iowa. Haschak finished within one match of earning All-American status. Greco Roman wrestling does not allow leg attacks and is entirely about using the upper body.

On July 24-26, Haschak competed in the USAW Freestyle Nationals, also in Fargo. He won three matches before Gambrall knocked him out of the tournament again.

As a result of his performance, Haschak was ranked in the nation’s top 20 for his weight class in freestyle.
