Picking up their second conference win this season, Lake Washington beat Bellevue 3-0, April 5 at Mac Field. The Kangs followed the win with another victory, beating Juneau in a non-conference game.

The Kangs, scoring their most goals so far this season, dominating the match against Bellevue.

After several shots on goal, the Kangs’ senior forward Merline Granados connected with freshman midfielder Aung Ta to score the first goal of the night 12 minutes into the match.

The teams battled for the remainder of the first half, ending the first 40 minutes with a 1-0 score for the Kangs.

Bellevue searched for an opening during the second half, but never were able to capitalize, while Lake Washington picked up two more late in the match.

Justin Manao scored an unassisted goal in the 70th minute, while the combo of Granados and Manao connected for the Kangs third goal of the night in the 78th minute.

On April 7, the team beat Jueanu 1-0 in a non-conference battle. Manao scored in the 18 minute of the match, off an assist from Adam Krebs.

The team plays Mercer Island on Friday, April 15, and Interlake on Tuesday, April 19.

Juanita beats Liberty for first win of the season

The Juanita Rebels picked up their first soccer win this spring, beating Liberty in a KingCo battle on Tuesday, April 5. Juanita won 1-0 off a Nick Horne penalty kick. Rebel goalie Dillon Cooper was credited with the shut out.

Juanita will face Sammamish on Friday, April 15, before taking on Mercer Island on Tuesday, April 19.
