Lake Washington softball beats Roosevelt 2-0

The Lake Washington softball team came up with two unearned runs during the sixth inning to defeated Roosevelt in a defensive struggle, 2-0, Friday. But the star of the game was Sara Aasness, who threw seven shut-out innings, striking out 13 batters and walking just one. Aasness also hit a double at the plate.

In all, Roosevelt committed four errors during the game against one for the Kangs.

Whitney Dunlap had a big day for the Kangs at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base.

The victory is Lake Washington’s first in league play against no losses and the team is currently 2-2 overall. The Kangs traveled to Crestwoods Park Monday at 3:45 p.m.
