Lake Washington finishes fifth at district tournament; three Kirkland players qualify for state | Boys prep golf

The Lake Washington High boys golf team finished fifth overall at the Class 3A District II championships on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Riverbend Golf Course in Kent.

The Lake Washington High boys golf team finished fifth overall at the Class 3A District II championships on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Riverbend Golf Course in Kent.

Kang junior Matt Uhrich led the way, shooting a 69 to finish third — one stroke behind Redmond’s Sean Kato and Roosevelt’s Gabe Spach, who tied for the top spot before Kato won the district title by playoff.

Juanita senior Devin Andrews finished in a tie fifth with a 72, and Lake Washington junior Montana Carranza finished in a tie for 20th with a 79.

The top 25 golfers advance to the Class 3A state tournament in the spring.

Lake Washington’s Eric Jessen finished tied for 27th with an 81.

The Kangs finished fifth as a team with 20.25 points. Redmond won the district title with 56.5 points.
