The Lake Washington High School softball team kept rolling Monday with an 8-5 victory on Mercer Island.

The Kangs built a 5-2 lead through four innings but the Islanders tied the game at 5-5 during the bottom of the fifth. Lake Washington showed why it is the defending state champions, bouncing right back to score two in the sixth and one during the seventh.

Hannah Walker led the Kangs at the plate, going 2-for-4, while her battery mate Tori Bivens picked up her fifth victory this season.

The two teams will face off again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday on Mercer Island.
