Lake Washington boys soccer beats Redmond, 3-1

The Lake Washington boys soccer team regrouped after losing its season opener.

The Kangs found their scoring legs with a 3-0 run during the first 41 minutes of their blowout victory against Redmond Friday.

Lake Washington began the game by giving up an early 20th-minute goal to the Mustangs. But the Kangs regrouped just before half time to score a last-second goal as Curtis Reid found teammate Jordan Zogg, who sent a rocket shot to the back of the Redmond net to tie the game.

The Kangs Taylor Stapf scored unassisted during the 71st minute and Reid once again found Zogg three minutes later for the team’s third and final goal of the contest.

Lake Washington will host Newport at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
