Against the Bulldogs (8-3), Lake Washington gained the early momentum with a nine-point lead, including a 7-0 run during the second quarter.

But the second half belonged to Garfield, which was led by junior Glenn Brooks. The junior led all scorers with 26 points and was aided by teammate Daeshon Hall’s 12 points. But Brooks scored when it counts with 11 points during the fourth quarter alone, including two big three-pointers to kill Kang rallies.

Lake Washington’s Matt Staudacher (17 points), Ryan Guisness (14) and ALex Houghton (9) did everything they could to keep the Kangs in the game.

The Kangs have split their season series with Woodinville and defeated Inglemoor earlier this season. Lake Washington will host Inglemoor on Feb. 12 during the final game of the regular season. Lake Washington’s next game will at Ballard on Friday at 8 p.m.
