Pacific Northwest athletes joined the World’s best Paralympic Swimmers in Miami for the USA Paralympics Spring National Championships, including Kirkland resident Olivia Lautman with Wave Aquatics.

Lautman, a first time national qualifier, posted all personal best times, making it into four championship finals.

“it doesn’t get any better than that,” Shadow Seals head coach Kiko Van Zandt said.

Lautman took a third in the 50 backstroke and fourth in the 50 breaststroke.

Lautman continues to improve as she focuses on the 2016 Paralympic Trials.

Athletes from the United States, Cameroon, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico and Russia competed in the event, which was also the United States’ team qualifier for the Pan Pacific Para-Swimming Championships.
