Kirkland resident helps Aggies win distance medley relay during championships

During the Mountain West Conference Championships this weekend Dillon Maggard, a Lake Washington High School graduate and sophomore track and field athlete with Utah State University Aggies, helped his team take first as the anchor in the mile of the distance medley relay during the 2016 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships.

During the Mountain West Conference Championships this weekend Dillon Maggard, a Lake Washington High School graduate and sophomore track and field athlete with Utah State University Aggies, helped his team take first as the anchor in the mile of the distance medley relay during the 2016 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The relay team of Benjamin Johnston, Landon Watts, Jordan Beutler and Maggard finished in a time of 9-minutes, 47.99-seconds. It is the second fastest time in school history.

He also took second place in the individual mile on Saturday for a Mountain West silver medal in a time of 4-minutes, 10.82-seconds.

Two hours later he placed fifth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8-mintues, 24.49-seconds placing him 10th in all time Utah State University history.
