Kangs cagers honored for brain power
This season’s Lake Washington High School Boy’s Basketball Team was named the WIAA 4A State Academic Champions for winter 2008-2009.
Coach Terry Johnson and the team were honored at halftime at the 4A state championship basketball game on March 7.
The award recognizes the academic achievement of high school athletic teams. The 11 member-strong Lake Washington Kangaroos boys basketball team currently holds a GPA of 3.64. Three of the team members have a 4.0 GPA, including AP and Honors coursework.
