The Lake Washington baseball team played its regular season home opener at Lee Johnson Field Wednesday and clobbered Liberty 12-1.
The Kangs hammered the ball for 10 hits, scoring four in the first inning, three in the third and five during the bottom of the fourth of the mercy-rule-shortened game.
Liberty’s defense aided the Kangs with four errors in the field.
Lake Washinton’s Theo Alexander was a double away from the cycle, going 3-for-3 with a triple, a home run, three RBI and three runs scored. Kang Zach Johnson was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Robert Hill got the win for the Kangs, pitching four innings, striking out six along the way.
