Juanita wins, LW loses in football openers

Juanita beat Ballard, 21-17, and Steilacoom defeated Lake Washington, 27-14, in nonleague football openers on Friday night.

Jake Languein led Juanita with 15 carries for 185 yards and two touchdowns, followed by Brayden Brown with seven carries for 31 yards and one score, quarterback Jake Hohu with seven carries for 82 yards and Isaiah Eubanks with 13 carries for 51 yards.

For LW, quarterback Zeke Pelluer ran for a 1-yard touchdown and passed for a 14-yard score to Kobe Schilling-George. Joey Ryan kicked both PATs.
