Juanita girls tennis sweeps doubles to beat Roosevelt

The Juanita High School girls tennis team used a sweep of doubles play to beat Roosevelt Thursday, 5-2.

The Rebels’ Molly Ichikawa and Shelby Hill beat Rochelle Wong-Hannah Kunde during the No. 1 doubles match, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2, while teammates Anna Ludvigsen and Ashley Manzoni made quick work of Emily Murphy and Frances Woods, 6-1, 6-1, during the No. 2 doubles match. Juanita’s Kelsey Glenn and Jasmine Isaac also won during the meet.

During singles action, Maria Jouravleva, of Juanita, beat Natalie Hudacek, 6-1, 6-0 to take the No. 1 seed match. Teammate Amy Shearer endured a shutout to start her match with Michelle Brown at No. 3 singles, just to comeback and blowout her opponent, 0-6, 6-2, 6-4. No. 4 singles Devin Clawson, or Juanita, beat Sis Odland, 6-2, 6-0.
