Juanita girls improve to 2-0

The Juanita High School girls basketball team earned its second win of the season with a 63-49 win against Glacier Peak behind a strong second half at home. The Rebels trailed by one at the half and led by just four points, 42-38, after three quarters. But for the second consecutive game Juanita scored over 20 points during the fourth quarter, finishing strong and knocking their opponents out. The Rebels did a good job of sharing the basketball as Kimberly Baba (17 points), Kate Cryderman (14) and Michelle Baba (10) all scored in double figures. In all, eight different players scored from the floor for the Rebels during the contest.

The Baba twins also combined for 11 steals (Kimberly 7, Michelle 4) and nine assists (Kimberly 6, Michelle 3).

Molly Grager and Kate Cryderman both led the team with nine rebounds during the contest and Grager had three blocked-shots. Taylor Paddock finished with eight rebounds.

Juanita will travel to Inglemoor for a 6 p.m. tip off tonight.
