Juanita falls in league tourny

They lasted longer than most thought.

The Juanita Rebels made it through to Saturday’s elimination game against Sammamish in the KingCo 3A tournament after finishing with the worst league record of a 3A team during the regular season.

The Rebels shocked Mount Si, who finished 13-5 in conference play, on Tuesday, May 12 during the first round of the league tournament, eliminating the Wildcats with an 8-7 win. Kris Otterholt hit a grand slam during the fourth inning for Juanita and knocked in five runs total.

The Rebels fell to eventual champion Bellevue 9-8 during Friday’s semi-finals, and lost to Sammamish 12-2 on Saturday to end their season. The Rebels finished 7-16 overall in their first year under new head coach Kevin Agnew.
