The Juanita High School baseball team edged Sammamish, 3-1, on Wednesday in Bellevue.

The Juanita High School baseball team edged Sammamish, 3-1, on Wednesday in Bellevue.

Juanita scored all three of its runs during the top of the fourth inning. Sammamish came right back with a run during the bottom of the inning but that was the end of the scoring for the game.

GJ Hurst was 2-for-3 for Lake Washington, while teammates Brad Close, 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI, and Nick Leverett, 1-for-1 with an RBI, accounted for the team’s runs.

Starting pitcher Sean Nelson earned the win, throwing 6.1 innings while scattering five hits. Tyler Lofquist earned the save.
