The Juanita High School softball team dominated its first game of the 3A Sea-King District tournament Monday, blasting Chief Sealth, 11-0, to advance to the second round at the Southwest Athletic Complex in West Seattle.

The Rebels were led by Madi Hedlund, who was 4-for-4 at the plate and threw two innings of shutout softball with five strikeouts.

Lisa Nelson started the game for Juanita on the pitching circle and was just as dominant, with four innings and 10 strikeouts.

Rebel Megan Murray was 2-for-2 with a double, Aimee Richardson was 2-for-2, Briar Swayne was 2-for-3, Katie Adams was 1-for-2 with a double and Kristina Warford went 1-for-3 with a triple.

Juanita moves on to play Bainbridge Island today at 5 p.m. at the Southwest Athletic Complex in West Seattle.
