Juanita baseball falls to Mercer Island

The Rebels lost to a hot Mercer Island baseball team on Mercer Island Tuesday evening. The final score was 8-3 for the Islanders.

Juanita, which is 3-4 so far this season, saw the first inning score jump to a 6-1 lead for Mercer Island, but kept their opponent scoreless in the second, before earning and giving up one run in the third. Juanita then held the Islanders to the score, expect for another point in the fifth, while the Rebels went on to earn it’s final run in the sixth.

Juanita’s Cole Graves was 2-3 at bat with one run and one RBI.

Mercer Island had consist hits off Juanita pitcher Brady Rusch, with Max Dammeier going 2-4 with one run and one RBI. Ben Emanuels was also 2-4 and had two RBI.

Juanita will travel to play Mercer Island on Thursday in the away portion of the series. That game begins at 6 p.m. at Island Crest Park on Mercer Island.
