JHS volleyball | Juanita falls back to .500 with loss

The Rebel volleyball team fell back to .500 in league play with a tough 3-1 loss to Liberty Tuesday.

Juanita survived being crushed during the first game 25-11 to storm back and take game two 25-17. Despite the fact that games three and four were close, Juanita fell to the Patriots 25-21 and 25-23.

The Rebels were led by setter Alona Chenish, who finished with 29 assists. Chenish spread the ball around to her teammates as Dana Michels had 10 kills, Janelle Badger had nine kills and Brittany Webster had eight kills. The Rebel defense was led by Ashley Manzoni, who had 12 digs and Elizabeth Tran finished with 11 digs and added three aces.

The Rebels are now 3-3 in league play with an overall record of 3-5. Juanita will travel to Mercer Island for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday.
