Lake Washington High School lacrosse coach Dejon Hush has been named by US Lacrosse to lead one of eight boys teams at its 2012 Champion All-American Showcase national prep all-star tournament.

Featuring 200 of the top high school lacrosse players in the U.S., the annual event is a part of the 2012 ESPNHS Games presented by GNC.  The event takes place July 22-27 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Hush, a second-year head coach at Lake Washington High School in Kirkland, was selected as one of the top 16 boys and girls prep coaches in the country by the US Lacrosse High School All-American advisory team after being nominated by the national governing body’s area chair. Prior to coming to Lake Washington in 2011, Hush coached for eight years at Bainbridge High School following two-year stints with Mercer Island High School and Franklin High School.

Hush is the only high school coach from Washington among coaches from 14 states selected to the honor.  Washington state is one of just five in the group where lacrosse is not yet sanctioned by its state interscholastic activities association.

“High school lacrosse is becoming a main-stream national game and is truly recognized in all regions of the U.S.,” said Tony Olney, a member of the US Lacrosse national board of directors and high school teacher at Bothell’s Secondary Academy for Success. “The selection of Dejon (Hush) among this group of national leaders demonstrates the increasing visibility of Washington state’s high school lacrosse teams, players and coaches on the national stage.”

High school coaches from the following states were selected to lead teams at the 2012 Champion All-American Showcase:  Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin.

The finals of the Boys’ 2012 Champion All-American Showcase will be televised on ESPNU.
