Gockel throws javelin to second place at state

Lake Washington’s Brady Gockel took second place in the javelin throw at the 3A state track and field meet, which was held May 24-25 at Mount Tahoma High in Tacoma.

He notched a mark of 182-07, and fellow Kang James Lane took sixth with a 160-03.

Also for LW at the meet, Taryn Chisholm took fifth in the 100 hurdles (16.06), Thayer Davis took seventh in the 200 run (26.33), Zaria Opara took sixth in the discus (123-10), Tessa Watkins took fifth in the pole vault (12-6), the 4×200 girls relay took third (1:44.75) and the girls 4×100 relay took fifth (49.92). Relayers were Chisholm, Davis, Kate Pallemaerts, Rosa Smith and Kate Kinney.

For Juanita, Ryan Greenwalt took third in the long jump (22-03.75), fourth in the 200 run (22.54) and fourth in the 400 run (49.79), and Ashley Schroeder took eighth in the javelin (117-00).
