The Kangaroos could have filled a ball bucket with extra-base hits on Friday night.

Matt Scheffler, Austin Lively and Connor Johnson each hit doubles as the Lake Washington High baseball team took care of Liberty 15-5 in KingCo League play on Friday in Renton.

Johnson actually did it twice, finishing with two RBIs and also pitching the first six innings: four runs, one walk and six strikeouts for the Kangs (16-1 overall, 4-1), who won their eighth consecutive game.

The Patriots (7-10, 7-9) used six pitchers against Lake Washington.

Scheffler, Johnson, Jake Steele and Kyle DePartee each had two RBIs for the Kangs. Scheffler went 4-5 with three runs scored, while DePartee went 5-5.

Next, the Kangaroos are scheduled to play Mercer Island (13-3, 13-2) at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 25, under the lights at Lee Johnson Field in Kirkland, a game which likely decides the regular season title for KingCo 3A.
