The teams battled back and forth in the first half but defense was the key as neither team would manage a score. Daniel Christenson grabbed five first-half saves, as the Warriors outshot NU 12-2 in the period.

In the second half, the defenses held strong for 19 minutes until NU’s Taylor Young took Trever Moll’s pass at the 63:51 mark and put it passed the Corban goalkeeper from 15 yards for the game winner. The Eagle defense stiffened in the second half giving up only six Corban shots with Christenson taking in one save.

While being outshot 18-9, Northwest U (13-3, 9-3 CCC) had six shots on goal, the same as the Warriors.  For Young, a senior from Bellevue, Wash., it was his 10th goal of the season and second straight game he has scored since returning from injury.
