Thank you for LW football story

Finally a win! If my records are right, by losing the last three games of 2006, all nine last season and the first five this fall the Kangaroos had dropped 17 straight prior to the victory over the Beavers. The 17-game streak was the second longest in LW history. Between 1970 and ‘73 they lost 22 straight.

Hard for me to take. I graduated from LW decades ago and during my three years the football team was 26-0-1. That was during the famous 51-game unbeaten streak.

A few months ago I started on a project to come up with pigskin season records for as far back as Kirkland/Lake Washington High School went. Except for home/away from 1978 to 2005, I believe I’ve got everything from 1944 to the present – date, opponent, score and final league standings. Between 1922 and 1943 I’ve got a few years complete, but not many. Living in Wenatchee doesn’t make his chore real easy. When I’m over there I check the high school annuals, and the Eastside Journal and Bellevue American microfilm at the Bellevue library. Enjoyed you story.
