Santa checks in from Finland

The trip has been some work and some play so far!

Our course through China had to be altered a little as the GPS was off by a mile or so. Back when we relied on the stars to give us direction we didn’t have these problems. But the elves and Mrs. Claus are right, it is easier to use when on the rare occasion we get a blizzard and that can be dangerous.

While traveling through Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, we stopped at Rawal Lake so the reindeer could drink some water. We geared up to leave for Kyrgyzstan and realized Prancer was missing! But Vixen spotted him swimming in the distance.

We don’t get the opportunity to swim at the North Pole, which is located in the middle of the Arctic Ocean and constantly covered with shifting sea ice. So I told the reindeer they all had 10 minutes to swim. Then we headed to Russia.

We stopped in Bagdad, Iraq so the reindeer could get some well deserved rest. My snoring kept Comet awake some, but she said she’ll get a cat nap when we get back home.

Now we’re in Finland, where we are reloading our sleigh with more toys for some boys and girls in Romania. The stops at the toy factories to “reload” are always so much fun because I get to do some toy testing. I can’t take too long though, the trip has to be planned to the second in order to make it to all the houses in time. Nevertheless, I always schedule in some time for fun!
