I want to wholeheartedly endorse Ramiro Valderrama for the 45th Legislative District position opposing Roger Goodman.

Sherie Valderrama, wife of Sammamish Deputy Mayor Ramiro Valderrama, was not at all pleased with the tone some of the City Council discussions took at the Oct. 18 regular meeting, and she communicated as much to council members in an email the following day.
A super PAC supporting Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee has redirected hundreds of thousands of dollars from the governor’s race into getting more Democrats elected to the Legislature.
I am writing in support of Roger Goodman, my 45th District State Representative. I have volunteered for his campaigns since he was first ran in 2006 and his many legislative accomplishments for the people of our state have been my reward.
Over my 42 years practicing law in Kirkland, I am regularly asked by friends and clients for recommendations on judicial races. This year I am strongly recommending the re-election of Justice Wiggins to the State Supreme Court. I have known and worked with Justice Wiggins.
As a mother, I am concerned about the financial debt we leave my children.
With the Presidential election taking center stage, local elections have fallen by the wayside. This is frightening, as who we vote into Office in our Washington is every bit as important as who we vote into Office in that other Washington. I feel compelled to write in and recommend Ramiro Valderrama for State Representative, 45th District.
I don’t see why we need to vote for ST3 | Cartoon for Oct. 41 – Frank Shiers
I don’t know many people who are excited to cast their vote for president this year. We are three weeks from the general election and yet nary is there a bumper sticker or yard sign declaring a person’s candidate of choice for the Oval Office. I’m not sure I can stomach watching or even listening to one more presidential debate. To all this I say “Bottom’s Up!”
The TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership – 12 country trade agreement written by corporations in secret, with no public input) is for the benefit of corporations but not for the people. It will be brought to a vote in Congress after the elections, at the time when many congresspersons are leaving office and have no need to please their constituents. It is being pushed as a good thing by the administration, polls appear to be in favor at first glance, but if you look further, you’ll find that 67 percent of the people either know very little or nothing about it. I have not talked to one person who is for it.
The proposed Regional Proposition 1 (ST3) is a $54 Billion tax and spend proposal that would have a long lasting and huge negative impact on the finances of the City of Kirkland and our region. ST3 is way out of the realm of reasonableness. It buys trains for Seattle at 12 times the cost of SR 520 bridge replacement project. For perspective, I have compared the City of Kirkland’s current annual budget for transportation to the pro-rated share of East King Subarea’s $9.8 billion that would be paid annually by Kirkland residents.
Our earth is covered by 30 percent of forests and if the current deforestation rate continues there will be no more forests within the next 100 years. Current rates at one and a half acres of trees or forest is cut down every second or 20 football fields is cut down every minute.Deforestation accounts for 2,400 yards a minute. Deforestation accounts for 15 percent carbon emission. Deforestation accounts for 12-17 percent of greenhouse emissions. Deforestation accounts for possibly 28,000 species to be extinct in the next quarter century. Deforestation destroys our planet.
At a recent town hall, the incumbent in the 45th Legislative District, Roger Goodman, laughingly reported that he is “firmly undecided” on the ST3 ballot issue. Challenger Ramiro Valderrama, on the other hand, explained the reasons he opposes ST3, the largest tax increase in the history of the state.
Do your parents love you? Is love sending you off to a place where you’re stripped of your self worth and traumatized for life?
You would have to have been living on the moon with no communication whatsoever to not know the United States presidential election has been a bit contentious this time around. There are a lot of things that the Right and the Left cannot agree on in this country, but I think we can all agree that the election rhetoric has been toxic during this cycle.
Imagine this is how your day goes. You wake up, laying in some else’s garbage, brushing your teeth in it, watching TV while sitting on it, and sometimes even having to eat all the garbage. Sea animals are being forced to do this every day. There is an unbelievable amount of pollution in our oceans, all over the world. Sea animals are having to live in it, swim in it, and even end up eating a lot of it.
