Jack passed away in Bellevue on March 28 after a fall. He is remembered as an inspiring teacher who taught in Kirkland for 30 years. Jack was born in 1930 and grew up in the Norwegian community of Ballard. He joined the Army at age 17 and rose quickly through the ranks. The service fueled Jack’s love of learning and then paid for his college education. In retirement, Jack and his wife, Pat, traveled in Europe. After Pat’s death, Jack traveled and continued his avid reading of biographies, history and novels. He will be missed and is survived by son, Thomas, granddaughter, Elizabeth, and step-daughter, Dawn.

The memorial service will be 11am on Friday, April 4, at The Gardens at Towne Center, 933 111th Ave NE, Bellevue. Free parking is available across the street in Elements garage, 958 111th Ave NE.
