Between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5, the Kirkland Police Department reported 521 traffic violations (seven DUIs), 20 school zone traffic violations, 20 traffic accidents, six animal calls, 34 alarm calls, 31 noise complaints, 18 calls of disturbance, 11 thefts, 21 car prowls, five car thefts, 20 calls of civil disturbance, five reported burglaries, 17 domestic violence calls, five calls for harassment, three reports of illegal drugs, four alleged assaults, seven acts of fraud, four malicious mischief reports, three juvenile crimes, one sex offense and two suicides. At least 40 people were arrested.

Sept. 4

Assault: 8 p.m., 11000 block of NE 125th Lane. A 25-year-old man was arrested when he allegedly strangled his 27-year-old sister and punched her with a knife in his hand.

Sept. 3

Trespass: 12:54 p.m., 300 block of Kirkland Ave. A 58-year-old woman was arrested after she trespassed the Kirkland Community Center.

Sept. 2

Traffic offense: 9:10 a.m., 16200 block of 124th Ave. NE. A 29-year-old man was taken into custody after he was stopped for a traffic violation and police discovered his felony theft warrant. He was also charged for driving while his license was suspended. Police seized a meth pipe.

Warrant: 11:45 a.m., 12800 block of NE 105th Place. A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody on a juvenile warrant.

Warrant: 11 a.m., 300 block of 10th Ave. S. A 30-year-old man was arrested on a Bellevue warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Sept. 1

Domestic violence: 10:30 p.m., 13500 block of 93rd Ave. NE. A 24-year-old woman was taken into custody after she allegedly punched her 33-year-old boyfriend in the back of his head and dug her fingernails into his arm, which drew blood because her boyfriend refused to give her cigarettes. During the assault, the woman kicked open a bedroom door after her boyfriend had locked himself in. Their 3-year-old daughter witnessed the encounter.

Assault: 12:15 a.m., 100 block of Kirkland Ave. A 24-year-old man was arrested for spitting on a 35-year-old man.

Domestic violence: 2:51 a.m., 12200 block of NE 116th St. A 27-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly pushed his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter, which caused a head injury.

Theft: 2:47 p.m., 10600 block of NE 68th St. A 21-year-old man was taken into custody after he allegedly stole three packages of organic steak from Metropolitan Market. The steaks were worth $45.12.

Aug. 31

Trespass: 3:20 p.m., 14300 block of 124th Ave. NE. A 21-year-old man was taken into custody after he refused to leave a private property condo complex. Police say the suspect appeared to be under some unknown narcotic.

Aug. 30

Domestic violence: 2:52 p.m., 10000 block of NE 123rd St. A 58-year-old man was arrested for punching his 26-year-old son in the ribs two to four times.
