Windermere Kirkland-Northeast donates clothing basics to local school districts

Windermere Real Estate’s Kirkland-Northeast office announced Oct. 17 representatives donated $4,000 worth of socks and undergarments to both the Northshore and Lake Washington School Districts.

Peter Hickey, owner of the Kirkland-Northeast office, said that while youth clothing is often donated to low-income families within area school districts, undergarments such as socks, t-shirts and underwear are in short supply.

“I challenged my brokers, pledging to match their individual donations, and the checkbooks came out,” Hickey said. “In one day, we found ourselves with $4,000 to spend.”

Agent Pat Reimer secured deep discounts from online vendors and the Windermere crew recently delivered the undergarments to the two school districts.
