Waste Management is hosting “Project Driveway” from June 23-27 and encourages single-family residential customers in Kirkland city limits to bag unwanted clothing, shoes, linens and coats for curbside collection. For collection purposes, bags should be tagged with the “WM Project Driveway” tag and set on the curb three feet away from customer’s recycling cart no later than 7 a.m. in the morning on the regular recycling collection day. The tag will be published in the June 6 edition of the Kirkland Reporter newspaper.

The tag can also be downloaded and printed from the city’s solid waste division webpage at www.kirklandwa.gov/recycle.

Donated items contained in the “tagged” bags will be picked up by Sight Connection, a non-profit that enhances the lives of people with vision loss. Households will receive a tax-deductible receipt for the bags they donate.
