Volunteers spruce up Peter Kirk Elementary in Kirkland during Comcast Cares Day

More than 50 volunteers transformed the gardens at Peter Kirk Elementary during Comcast Cares Day on April 30.

More than 50 volunteers transformed the gardens at Peter Kirk Elementary during Comcast Cares Day on April 30.

During the day, Peter Kirk parents, teachers and staff worked alongside of Comcast volunteers from the Redmond Field Fulfillment Office, planting more than 80 new bushes, grasses and shrubs to the front of the school.

Volunteers also moved a mountain of mulch to new garden beds at the front of the school and completed the school’s new “Kinder-Garden.”

Peter Kirk Girl Scout troop also planted and added mulch to the planting bed by the school sign.

More than 62,000 Comcast volunteers participated in this annual day of service, which is one of the largest single days of corporate volunteer effort in the country.
