Volunteers are needed for the Decorate Downtown event with the Kirkland Downtown Association (KDA) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20. Volunteers will help hang garland and lights on the participating downtown storefronts. The merchants appreciate the help as many don’t have enough staff to decorate and assist customers. This is a great partnership with the merchants as they pay for the garland and string lights and the KDA supplies the labor to hang it. The KDA will assign four members to a team and will work to put the same teams as last year together again where possible. Market neighborhood residents can get credit for volunteering.

Any other neighborhood groups or anyone else getting credit from work or needing service hours, please let the KDA know. Neighborhood associations get credit for volunteer hours, which helps us when the KDA applies for its yearly grant from the city.

The KDA will also have breakfast sandwiches and coffee donated by George’s Place and lunch will be provided from one of the restaurants when the event is over.

For more information email Michelle Sailor, Market neighborhood chair, at msailor@comcast.net.
