The water main that broke at Totem Lake Malls Tuesday has been fixed.

The break occurred during the early afternoon along 120th Avenue Northeast, between the Wells Fargo bank and the My Home Furniture Store.

The Nortshore Utility District (NUD) was contacted by the city of Kirkland regarding the break.

“Staff responded to find that the contractor working for the Totem Lake Mall had damaged our water service line,” said Kelly Nesbitt with NUD. “The service line was repaired within a couple of hours.”

The NUD had no previous breaks in the area and the damage was found to be caused by the contractor.

“The responsible party will be billed for our repairs,” Nesbitt said.
