Three-alarm fire on Rose Hill brings 21 emergency vehicles | UPDATE

The Kirkland Fire Department responded to a three-alarm fire at the Sixty-01 apartment complex on Rose Hill near the Kirkland and Redmond boundary on Saturday.

The Kirkland Fire Department responded to a three-alarm fire at the Sixty-01 apartment complex on Rose Hill near the Kirkland and Redmond boundary on Saturday.

There have been no reports of serious injuries to firefighters or tenants and the fire was reportedly under control according to a report at 5 p.m. but some pets are believed to have been killed in the blaze.

Mike Hilley with RFD said he believes two or three units were damaged and investigators are still trying to determine the cause.

The fire started in the late afternoon at the complex located at 6000 block of 140th Ave. NE and resulted in the department having to block off some roads, inlcuding Old Redmond Road. The roads were reopened by about 6 p.m. Saturday.

Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue and Eastside Fire all responded to the incident and Kirkland engine 22 was the first on the scene, according to the Kirkland Firefighter’s Facebook page. In all, 21 emergency vehicles responded to the fire.
