Studio East presents “Shakespeare in the Park,” as first in-person performance in 16 months

Twelfth Night – Shakespeare in the Park, Performing at Juanita Beach Park June 18-20, 2021

Studio East is taking its annual Shakespeare production to the park June 18-20 for its first in-person performances in 16 months.

After a year of streaming Mainstage shows online, Studio East students and artistic team are thrilled to present a production in-person. Fourteen students ages 13-19 will perform the comedy on an outdoor stage at Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland.

Twelfth Night follows twins Viola and Sebastian. Separated in a shipwreck, Viola disguises herself as a man and falls in love with her new employer, Orsino, who dotes on Olivia, who falls for Cesario, who’s really Viola. And that’s before Sebastian washes ashore in search of his missing sister. Cue love triangles, misunderstandings, pranks, and a whole lot of laughter.

Twelfth Night has a running time of 2 hours plus an intermission, and is free admission to the community. All performances will be held at Juanita Beach Park. Performances are June 18 at 6:30 pm, June 19 at 2 pm & 6:30 pm, and June 20 at 2 pm.

This event will be in a designated, roped off area of the park. At this time per WA State Performing Arts guidelines, masks will be required when watching the show. For more info, visit https://studio-east.org/twelfth-night/.

Twelfth Night is presented by The Knutzen Family, with Bob & Amy Maher and Dianna Caley as Artistic Sponsors, and Eric and Julie Trott as Technical Sponsors.
