The results are in for the Studio-East Mother’s Day coloring and essay contest, sponsored by the Reporter. Congratulations to the winner, 10-year-old Jasmine Sun, who was awarded four tickets to a StoryLand performance of Princess & the Pea and lunch at Trellis.

The four finalists include Riley Rabuchin, age 7; Nicole Nelson, 12; Alexa Turner, 3; and Bryce Turner, 5. Finalists each received two tickets to the performance.

Here is Jasmine’s award-winning poem, “The Best Mom Ever,” and essay, “My Magnificent Mom”:

“The Best Mom Ever”

My mom’s the best you could have

She helps me each and every day

She cooks me food and buys me toys

The park is where she takes me to play

She’s there when I need her

Cheering me when I’m sad

Then she uses her magic charms

To make me feel glad

Helping me grow more and more

What else can you ask for?

“My Magnificent Mom”

A wonderful mother is always there for you. That’s my mom through and through. She cheers me up when I’m sad or frustrated. Mom’s constantly doing her job, caring for me and letting me have fun too. She makes vacation arrangements for the family, giving us amazing memories. She plays games with my sister and I. Hey; she’s just my magnificent mom.
