Staying Connected group starts June 7th

The program for people living with memory loss comes to Kirkland.

The Alzheimer’s Association Washington State Chapter is hosting a new program for individuals living with memory loss called Staying Connected.

The free health promotion and social support program is being held at Madison House in Kirkland on Thursdayafternoons starting June 7.

Studies have shown that being socially active and keeping the mind engaged benefit a person’s mood and memory. In Staying Connected, participants learn and collaborate on methods for coping with memory loss, communication, and staying engaged in social and pleasant activities. Participants who complete the program are empowered with new information, strategies for success, and a stronger support network.

Staying Connected consists of four weekly 90-minute facilitated discussion sessions and is geared specifically toward individuals with memory loss and a companion or support person. Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Please contact Madison Moore at (206) 529-3870 or mamoore@alz.orgto register or for more information.
