Drivers who plan to use the State Route 520 floating bridge to cross Lake Washington may encounter delays early tomorrow morning.
The left lane in each direction will be closed from 2:30 to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, to repair a wheel on one of the barriers that blocks traffic before a drawspan opening. Once the repair work is finished, Washington State Department of Transportation bridge maintenance crews will temporarily close the bridge to vehicle traffic for up to five minutes to ensure proper operation of the barrier.
Electronic message signs on highways leading to the bridge will advise drivers of the delays. Drivers can choose an alternate route to cross or go around Lake Washington, such as Interstates 90 and 405 or State Route 522. Traffic conditions on the bridge can be monitored on our Seattle traffic page.
