The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. Between May 5-11, the Kirkland Police Department reported 493 traffic violations (at least seven DUIs), 15 alarm calls, 21 car accidents, three burglaries, 16 noise complaints, 11 thefts, 12 car prowls, nine malicious mischief calls, seven domestic violence calls, eight incidents of harassment, 14 calls of a disturbance, four illegal substance calls, three assaults, five car thefts and 11 animal control calls. At least 41 people were arrested.

May 11

Domestic: 6:30 p.m., 12000 block of N.E. 99th Lane. Suspect arrested after he assaulted his brother and father.

May 10

Liquor violation: 8:57 p.m., 1400 10th Street W. An officer called to Kiwanis park heard a commotion and expletives come from people near the shoreline. The officer walked to the shoreline area and saw five people sitting on a downed tree. When the officer approached the group he heard the sound of empty beer cans hitting the ground. Only one of the five individuals was over 21 years old. The officer noticed that there were empty beer cans on the beach and floating in Lake Washington. He asked the group to pick up the trash and beer cans. All were arrested for having liquor in the park and the minors will face an additional charge.

Missing person: 2:30 a.m., 200 block of Kirkland Ave. Neighbors reported a possible disturbance and upon arrival officers found three teenage minors and a 19-year-old. A 15-year-old female was found to be intoxicated and was found to be a missing person. A second 15-year-old girl was found to be a runaway juvenile. Both were returned to their parents.

May 8

Minor, liquor violation: 12:46 p.m., 13000 block of 116th Way N.E. An officer responded to the Kingsgate Park and Ride regarding a 15-year-old girl who was in possession of beer. She was found to have drug paraphernalia. Her father picked her up from KPD after processing.

May 7

Warrant arrest: 12:40 p.m., 11900 N.E. 132nd Street. A 42-year-old Des Moines man was parked at Eastside Urology and told officers he was looking for lunch with his 19-year-old son. The son was arrested on a theft warrant out of Seattle. The father was found to have metal knuckles hidden in the visor.

May 6

Warrant arrest: 3:33 p.m., 11500 block of N.E. 118th Street. A 24-year-old Kent man was arrested on a driving with a suspended license warrant.

DUI: 2:14 a.m., 11600 block 24th Ave. N.E. A 28-year-old man was arrested for DUI.

Traffic offense: 5:35 a.m., 12200 N.E. 60th Street. A 42-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

May 5

Illegal substance: 5:10 a.m., 12500 116th Ave. N.E. A 25-year-old Kirkland man was stopped for speeding and subsequently arrested for the 52.38 grams of marijuana in his lunch box.

Assault: 7:10 p.m., 11400 block of N.E. 128th Street. A 17-year-old Kirkland boy was arrested for assault after he used his shoulder to knock his step dad off his feet, causing him to fall and feel pain.

Minor, liquor violation: 10:31 p.m., 8200 block of 122nd Ave. N.E. Two teenagers and one 20-year-old man were arrested for minor in possession, furnishing minors with alcohol and supplying a party with alcohol and marijuana.

May 4

Illegal substance: 7:50 p.m., 8600 131th Ave. N.E. A 44-year-old Seattle man was stopped for a title transfer violation. He was subsequently arrested for possession of four grams of marijuana in his sock. A pipe and bong were also found.

Warrant arrest: 6:15 a.m., 12600 N.E. 145th Street. A 24-year-old Kirkland man was arrested on a warrant.
