Rap star and pop culture icon Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus was in Kirkland on Saturday drawing a crowd of onlookers at Mary Jane, a Kirkland marijuana store.
Owner Sierra Conley said the store, which celebrated a one-year anniversary on July 8, was packed.
“The turnout was good,” she said. “I don’t know how many people showed up; it was such a whirlwind and we didn’t have any way to count.”
The public appearance was a joint marketing move between Conley and one of her growers in the Seattle area. Broadus took pictures, signed autographs — and even danced.
“The customers had so much fun with him,” Conley said.
