Joseph S. Simmons Construction recently completed the 13 Central Way project in Kirkland.

The Seattle-based company completed the 4,500 square-foot retail and office building by removing an existing freestanding structure on the southern half of the property and joining a new concrete masonry unit structure to the existing two-story building to the north. The new structure features design-build components of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, a structural steel roof, interior high end finishes, roof top decks, Revealed Siding System manufactured by Hardi-Panel, storefront cable railings and structural steel and glass canopies.

“This was a fantastic project to work on and we are delighted by the outcome,” said Joe Simmons, president of Joseph S. Simmons Construction. “When you assemble the kind of team that we had you know it’s going to be a high-quality finished product and you’re going to have fun in the process. The City of Kirkland was also extremely cooperative and looked forward to having the revitalized property in their downtown core.”

Joseph S. Simmons Construction’s Project Manager Todd Hartmann and Site Superintendent Chris Damoiseaux facilitated the completion of the project in concert with architect Steve Coulston and interior designer Sandy Condiotty of Lance Mueller and Associates; and structural engineer Sarah Gerhke of Shutler Consulting Engineers. The retail space is being leased by Chris Corr of GVA Kidder Matthews.
