Registration has opened for The Third Annual Great Kirkland Wiener Dog Races as a part of Kirkland’s Oktoberfest celebration.

The races take place as a part of the three-day Kirkland Oktoberfest, held each year in Marina Park.

The dogs will race for the gold at the end of a 25-yard course held at 1 p.m. on Oktoberfest Sunday, Sept. 27.

Kirkland Oktoberfest is the Seattle area’s largest authentic Oktoberfest tradition and is running from Sept. 25 through Sept. 27. The festival includes a Müchen-style Biergarten, 21-and-over, Northeast craft and imported German beers, Uli’s Famous Sausages, live music, Human Foosball and more.

The Wiener Dog Races are presented by KDOG (Kirkland Off-Leash Dog Park), which is in charge of maintaining Jasper’s Dog Park.
