Between Wednesday, Nov. 26 and Tuesday, Dec. 2, the Kirkland Police Department reported 450 traffic violations (nine DUIs), 20 thefts, 19 alarm calls, 16 burglaries, 12 car accidents and 11 assaults (10 domestic violence). At least 33 people were arrested.

Thursday, Nov. 27

MISSING PERSON: 2:30 a.m., 7800 block of 130th Ave. Northeast. A Bothell resident reported her sister missing after she did not return from dancing the previous evening. The woman, a 22-year old Kirkland resident, later returned at 1 p.m.

FIRE: 3:34 p.m., 8300 block of 128th Ave. Northeast. Police and firefighters responded to an apartment complex after a resident there reported smelling smoke in one of the units. Authorities later found extremely burned food cooking on her stove. The female resident was advised to leave the stove and over off for a while.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: 10:13 p.m., 8000 block of 131st Pl., Northeast. A 41-year old male resident threw his wife to the floor and held her down as she tried to get up. Three young children were at home at the time. He was later arrested and the victim appeared to be uninjured, though complaining of pain.

Friday, Nov. 28

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 12:57 a.m., 9700 block of N.E. 117th Lane. A 40-year old local man was arrested for possession of marijuana. Police seized his green Chrysler 300 and also discovered suspected black tar heroin in a subsequent search.

WELFARE CHECK: 1:48 p.m., 6700 block of 108th Ave. Northeast. An 59-year-old female wearing garbage bags and pushing a wheeled cart declined an offer for shelter or aid from police. She advised them that she had a room at a nearby inn.

Saturday, Nov. 29

MISSING PERSON: 1:19 p.m., 12700 block of N.E. 129th Court. A 29-year-old woman reported her husband missing. The 27-year-old man returned as police investigated and alleged his wife had was under the influence of narcotics. Paramedics later arrived and said she had only taken her prescribed medication.

THEFT: 3:15 p.m., 12200 block of 120th Ave. Northeast. A security guard at Fred Meyer reported a 43-year-old Seattle man attempted to shoplift 10 fur clothing items. He was later arrested, booked at the Kirkland City Jail, cited for shoplifting and released.

ANIMAL: 3:30 p.m., 6900 block of 123rd Ave. Northeast. A resident complained of barking dogs at a nearby home.

Sunday, Nov. 30

VEHICLE PROWL: 9:00 p.m., 11400 block of N.E. 86th Street. A 2Renton man reported the theft of his Ipod and cell phone after an unknown suspect smashed the passenger-side window of his vehicle.

Monday, Dec. 1

ROBBERY: 1:10 a.m., 12400 block of N.E. 85th Street. A pharmacy was reportedly robbed by a man who jumped over the counter and forcibly demanded the drug Oxycontin. The suspect took an undisclosed number of Oxycontin tablets from a cabinet, unlocked by the pharmacist, before fleeing the area in Dodge vehicle. The case is under investigation.

BURGLARY: 2:57 a.m., 11000 block of N.E. 124th Lane. A 31-year-old homeless man was arrested for burglary after he broke into a secured laundry facility. A subsequent search of the individual yielded a small amount of marijuana and a pipe.
